Strolling/Biking on the paved Rosenau Lake Trail
Badminton
Volleyball
Field Games
Rocking Chairs on Porches
Hiking
Fellowship with Others

We have “scheduled” a few activities throughout the day if you wish to participate, but the choice is yours... whatever sounds good to you!  There are many opportunities available for you to enjoy a day in the mountains with your family among other Foundations Friends.

Schedule:

10:00 - 11:00 - Nature Walk and Nature Journaling - Take a short walk along the lake and discover the beauty of God’s creation.  We will identify plants, animals, and insects along the way and then return to the shade of the pavilion to hear a short talk on keeping a nature journal.  You’ll discover how much fun it is to record the beauty of creation.

10:00 - 11:00 - Nature Photography - Bring your camera and join Evan Travers as he explains some of the basics for composing a nature picture with your camera.  Even if you don’t have a camera, come along and observe other photographers and learn some of the techniques being explained.

11:00 - 12:00 - Nature Drawing A - Join Casey Key of His Hands Creative Arts as he offers instruction in pencil drawing under the pavilion.  We will choose an element of nature and learn to see it with new eyes as we draw it on paper.  Please bring your own nature journal, pencil, and paper.  We will have some supplies for sale as well if you need to use them.

12:00 - 1:30 - Bluegrass, Barbecue and Fellowship - Bring a picnic lunch for your family and we will all eat together at noon and share a good season of fellowship, bluegrass picking, and picnicking near the lake!

1:30 - 2:30 - Nature Drawing B - Another opportunity to join Casey Key of His Hands Creative Arts as he offers instruction in pencil drawing under the pavilion.  We will choose an element of nature and learn to see it with new eyes as we draw it on paper.  Please bring your own nature journal, pencil, and paper.  We will have some supplies for sale as well if you need to use them.

2:30 - 4:00 - Hike to the Cross - Join the troops as we take a moderate, 0.9 mile hike up Chandler mountain to the cross and Creel Chapel.  Another chance to visit with new friends as well as to enjoy God’s creation!

4:00 - 6:00 - Old Time Bluegrass Hymn Sing - Rest in the shade of the pavilion or along the lovely lake as we sing favorite hymns to the accompaniment of a live bluegrass band.  I’ll Fly Away and Amazing Grace...  enjoy singing in the fresh mountain air!
